| These self contained alternators eliminate the need for an external voltage regulator, and they DO NOT use the T plug-in like the stock alternators do. Just tape it off as well. They have the potential to produce 50 to 60 amps at idle compared to the very low 15 amp output that the stock alternators have. Our HO alts can produce 125 amps at 2500 rpms compared to the 35 amp output of the stock alternators. You'll not only have more power than you can ever use in your roadster, but you'll never have a brown out at idle again. Just imagine, your turn signals will never slow down at a stop light, your wipers will never slow down again, your heater fan will never slow down again, and your headlights will never dim down at idle. If you think that this sounds too good to be true, rest assured that these alternators are all that we claim that they are and more. We've been selling our L engine z car version of the high output alternators for many years now and have plenty of satisifed customers. Get one of the alts from us and you'll be glad you did. It will make things in your electrical system last longer too. These are simply the best thing that could ever happen to your roadster. These alternators do require a special belt. Only because the stock belts won't hold up to a deep V pulley like we use on these alternators. The stock pulleys are a shallow V and we've seen stock belts fail in as soon as 5 days when used on our deep V pulleys. The belt does cost extra. For the time being these are a special order only item. Please allow an extra week for delivery time because these units have to be custom built for us. When these alternators start selling more as word gets out, then we'll start carrying them in stock all of the time. These alts will fit the 1600 and 2000 roadster engines. We haven't been able to check on the older roadsters to see if they fit them as well. We haven't had one come into the shop yet. As soon as one shows up we'll spec it out to see if it fits them as well. There are some skeptics out there that think a high output alternator can cause damage to your older car and we're here to say it just ain't so. If you add electrical power sucking devices to your car that exceed your cars wiring and/or circuits capacity, then THAT can damage your cars wiring, not a high output alternator. If you add new or auxiliary electrical devices to your roadster or other older car, then they need to be on their own isolated circuits. Never run those things through the stock wiring on any car. Shipping in the lower 48 states varies from $24.00-$28.00 for this alternator . Last update 08/10 |
