| These are used wiper motors that have been tested and function perfectly. We can also refurbish your existing wiper motor (as long as it hasn't been burnt up). There is a core charge on these units of 50.00. That will be added automatically to your order by the store. We can also repair and/or rebuild your wiper linkage in most cases. The biggest cause for wiper motor failure is due to the brown out in the electrical system at idle on all z's with original factory alternators because they only produce 15 to 20 amps at idle on all alts from 70-83. Going to our high output alternator solves this problem completely. They have the potential to produce 50 to 60 amps at idle thereby eliminating the brown out effect. See listing. The second biggest cause of wiper motor failure is siezed wiper pivots. That is the part that sticks out through the windshield cowling and your wiper arm attaches to it. Whenever you repair or replace a wiper motor it's always adviseable to remove the linkage from the car, dismantle the 2 pivot points, clean them up good and coat them with synthetic grease. Then put them back together and install them back in the car. There is supposed to be a rubber boot on each one of the wiper pivots to keep water out of them. We carry those boots in stock. Make sure that yours are in good repair or order replacements from us. See listing in the weatherstripping or body gasket section. For a core return to be acceptable it has to be returned within 60 days of the date on the sales invoice and it must be repairable. In other words if the motor has extensive damage to the windings or relay it is not considered repairable. Last updated 01/12 |
