| This block is used to lock the timing chain in place so you can remove the cam gear without loosing tension on the chain tensionser. If you accidently drop the timing chain then you have to pull the timing cover and fix the problem. We make these chain blocks ourselves. We take a piece of good 'ol American oak and cut it to the proper shape and size then drill a hole in it to aid in easy removal from the engine after you're done using it. We use oak because it's very hard and this block should last you forever. This block is identical to the ones we use in the shop and even after years of regular use by us, this style of block still holds up just fine. These will ship in a padded envelope via the postal service anywhere in the US for $6.50. If you'd like us to use that service then put a note in the comment section of the order form and we'll take care of it for you. Last update 06/11 |
