| These units help get rid of the delay in your steering. Be sure to replace your rack bushings at the same time. They also play a part in steering delay. Once you've replaced them all with the units that we sell, you'll never have to replace them again. They don't ever wear out. We no longer sell the ones made of ABS plastic. We're now selling the ones made by Energy Suspension which are made from urethane. As you can see from the pic, these units have a steel collar in the bolt holes which makes them even stronger than before. Will fit stock 1970-78 Z-cars, and also fits the 79-81 with manual rack and pinion steering. Be sure to check your inner and outer tie rod for wear. We sell those items as well. See listings. When replacing your coupler, it's easier if you unbolt the rack and slide it forward about an inch. This will make your job much easier to do. NOTE: A word of caution when doing rack bushings on these cars: The bolts that hold the rack to the cross member come in from the underside of the car. They screw into a bracket that clamps the rack down. That bracket has 2 nuts welded to it, one for each bolt. They also have a lock nut on top of the welded nut. YOU MUST REMOVE THE LOCK NUT COMPLETELY BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO TAKE OUT THE RETAINING BOLT OR YOU WILL BREAK THE BOLT. The lock nut is visible and accessible from the topside in most cases.
