| This is absolutely the BEST starter ever made for Chevrolet small blocks. We have these units custom built for us and they're almost too good to be true. We've been using these starters for years with zero problems. We've never seen one of the starters fail even after years of use. We'll be posting some specs for these starters soon. These gear reduction starters have 4 times the torque of the stock GM starters, they never require shimming or grinding the case to get the gears to mesh properly like the stock units. They are a direct bolt in, and they never fail. They are just about half the size of the stock GM starters and in most cases you don't have to remove your head pipe or header to pull one of these starters. If you have 12:1 compression in your built engine, these starters will still turn it over just fine. These starters are originally made by Nippondenso, and then our manufacturer does the modifications and builds a special mounting block so they are a direct bolt in to the engine block. They come with special allen head mounting bolts too. These starters are even more reliable and have even more power than our original Hitachi starter conversions for the Chev V-8 engines. Once you install this starter in your Chev V-8 powered Z, it will be the last time you ever have to change a starter. If by some chance we're ever out of stock on these starters, it usually only takes a day or two for the manufacturer to build more and get them to us. No core charge is needed. Last updated 08/08 |
