| This kit contains the O-ring and the seal needed when you change your speedometer pinion to make sure that it doesn't leak transmission fluid. If the seal leaks then your speedometer cable will leak trans fluid. On the 300 zx's from 84-89, if the speedo pinion seal starts to leak on these models, the fluid can travel up the cable all the way to the speedometer head itself and ruin the head. It can also drip fluid right onto the drivers legs. On the earlier z's it won't usually do that it will just leak out of the cable down by the transmission end.
