| This is the rubber shift boot that fastens to the floor, underneath the center console. It plays a role in keeping out unwanted heat, road noise, and exhaust fumes as well. It fits all 70-71 stock z's. If you have upgraded your 70-71 240Z to a 72 or newer 4 speed tranmission, or a 5 speed trans, then you need to change the rubber boot over to the 72-78 rubber shift boot, and cut the hole in the floor larger to match the boot. You will also need a shift boot retaining ring which we also have for sale and will be adding that to our store soon. This part has gone obsolete & is no longer available.
