| These rack bushings are sold individually, so if you want a set be sure to order a left side unit as well. These are a high performance extra thick rubber type bushing that is definently superior to the original factory style. We also sell polyurethane units as well if you would rather have that style. See listing. This is the time to replace the rubber steering coupler as well. The original ones are soft rubber and also cause a delay in the steering response just like stock or worn rack bushings. NOTE: A word of caution when doing rack bushings on these cars: The bolts that hold the rack to the cross member come in from the underside of the car. They screw into a bracket that clamps the rack down. That bracket has 2 nuts welded to it, one for each bolt. They also have a lock nut on top of the welded nut. YOU MUST REMOVE THE LOCK NUT COMPLETELY BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO TAKE OUT THE RETAINING BOLT OR YOU WILL BREAK THE BOLT. The lock nut is visible and accessible from the topside in most cases. Fits stock 1974-78 Z-cars. Last update 04/10 |
