| A lash pad is the puck that goes between the toe of the rocker arm and the valve stem. These are the stock replacement lash pads. They are to be used on stock grind cams only. There are 2 sizes of stock lash pads, this one measures out to .100 or one hundred thousandths. We also sell a .120 or one hundred twenty thousandths lash pad as well as our high performance versions. If you have a performance grind cam then you need to use our special oversized lash pads. The size of those lash pads is determined by which cam you have, and how the valves are set up in the head for your L engine. For high performance lash pads see listing. If you want the .120 lash pads then order from this listing and put a note in the comment box on the order form that you would like the .120 size and we'll take care of it for you. This listing is for a single lash pad. For 4 cylinder L engines they use 8 all total. For 6 cylinder L engines they use 12. Valve train geometry is very critical on all L engines. This is determined by assembled valve stem height, in relation to the height or distance from there to the cam lobe, the size of the lash pad, and the size of the rocker arm. Note: for the 1980 720 pickups, only the first half of the production year used the L series engines which has the intake on the left side. Mid way through they changed to the Naps/Z engines which have the intake manifold on the right side of the engine. Last update 12/10 |
