| This listing is for a set of 12 threaded inserts that will allow you to convert your P90A turbo head from hydraulic valve adjusters over to the mechanical adjusters. It's a very simple process to do this if you have the proper tools. You remove the rocker arms, then using a pneumatic 1/2" impact and a deepwell socket you remove each of the hydraulic adjusters. Then you sterilize the hole and put a drop of blue loc-tite on the threads of the threaded insert, near the middle. Then you can screw the unit in with your fingers. These units have a lip on the top of them that will stop the thread insert from going all the way to the bottom of the hole. Next you screw in the mechanical adjuster and torque it with your impact. Now install a single rocker arm and adjust it to factory specs. Then go and do the next. It's important to install the rockers one at a time and adjust it accordingly before going onto the next. That way you can be assured that you won't have a valve hit a piston accidently. FYI, factory specs for the cold valve lash is .008 intake, and .010 exhaust with the lobe pointing straight up. If you need a set of the mechanical adjusters, we do have plenty of them in stock. See listing, or call us direct. If we happen to be out of stock of these threaded inserts please allow up to an extra week for delivery. Last update 02/12 |
