| This listing is for a modified uncoated heat shield. This heat shield is to protect the pcv valve and the hose that goes to it, from exhaust heat. As you can see in the pic, this shield is vertically mounted under the intake manifold and behind the pcv hose. Failure to use this heat shield will cause the hose to burn through and cause a major vacuum leak in your engine. Definently not a good thing to happen. . If you use a 6 into 1 tuned header for a 75-78 280 Z like the one we sell, (see listing) then the stock pcv heat shield won't fit. We recognized this as a major problem and came up with a viable solution. We take a used stock heat shield, cut it in several places, then bend it to clear the header and weld it in that position. If you have a 621 header then you don't need to have the heat shield modified. It's only for the 6 into 1. Note: the shield in the posted picture is ceramic coated with Chrome x. That service costs an extra 45.00. If you'd like a ceramic coated shield then put a note in the comment section of the order form stating that and we'll take care of it for you. Paypal customers that want it coated will need to make a payment directly to our paypal account for an additional 45.00. Then send us an e-mail letting us know that you made that additional payment. There is a 35.00 core charge that will be automatically added to your order by our store at the time of purchase. To get that money refunded back to you then send us your old undamaged heat shield back to us within 60 days from the date of purchase. We also sell the horizontally mounted heat shield that goes under the intake manifold both coated and uncoated. We also sell the brake master cylinder heat shield in both coated and uncoated versions. See listings or call. Last update 05/10 |
