| This is an emissions compatible header called a 621. This refers to 6 cylinders then into 2, and then into 1 pipe. This is a custom modified header that we do in house and then it's coated with Chromex which is a ceramic coating. We start out with our regular 621 header with a slip on connection before the Y. It's the same header as the one in our other listing for these years. At the Y there are 2- 2" pipes that come together into 1- 2" pipe. This is very inefficient so we have come up with a modification to make these headers flow much better. We start out by welding the Y section to the header itself, then we cut the header near the base of the Y where it is still efficient. Then we custom make a 2.5" aluminized coupler and weld it to the header at a very specific angle. Then we weld on a 3 bolt flange so if you ever have to pull the header or engine then you can just unbolt the exhaust system. We actually increase the ground clearance with this modification vs. the unmodified header. The slip fits that originally come on these headers usually leaks and/or comes loose and we don't like that so we fix it permanently with these modifications that we do. Then to top it all off we have the header ceramic coated with a product called Chromex. It looks sweet and protects the header from rusting out later on down the road. We do sell this version of our 621 header uncoated for a price of 534.95. These headers are a special order item only, we do not carry them in stock. It usually takes us a week to get them and then we have to modify them which can take a few days. To have them coated also takes another week. |
