| The aluminum brake drums are no longer available new. We can only get cast iron drums new. This listing is for a single rebuilt aluminum drum, requires 2 per vehicle. If you want a pair of drums, be sure to put 2 in the quantity box. We now have a company that is completely overhauling our z brake drums for us. They clean up the drum and etch the aluminum making it look nice again, then they remove the steel friction lining on the inside, replace it with a new lining, turn it to new factory specs, and then balance it. At present we are not carrying the rebuilt drums in stock. The manufacturer does have them in stock, already rebuilt, no fin damage and ready to sell. It only takes a week to 10 days for us to get them after you place your order with us so take that into consideration. When you order drums from us we need to know if your drums have fin damage or not. Fin damage costs 30.00 to 70.00 to repair depending on how extensive the fin damage is on your drums. If you don't want the fin damage repaired then you have to send us your drums first, so we can have them rebuilt. That will take an additional 3 to 4 weeks. If you do want the fin damage repaired then you can use the core method or send us yours for rebuilding first, whichever you prefer. You will be billed accordingly. The core charge is 100.00 per drum and it will be added to your order automatically by the store when you place your order. The drums that you send in are subject to inspection and the core charge refund is directly affected by the condition of your trade ins. Cracked drums may not be acceptable trade ins. Trade ins must be received by us within 60 days of the date that we send the drums out to you. These drums do not come with the rubber plug, that is extra. See listing. We can also have your drums powder coated a variety of colors for an additional fee. Call or e-mail us for details. Last update 01/12 |
