5pc. Sectional Carpet Kit 70-71 240z (Stock) BEST
5pc. Sectional Carpet Kit 70-71 240z (Stock) BEST

Comes with 2 front carpet pieces, 2 underseat, & the rear cargo deck carpet. If you would like to carpet other areas of your interior, see listings. We recommend using our sectional kits for all z's from 70-76. Less expensive, less work to install, and pretty much the same end results. We usually have these drop shipped directly from the manufacturer if you're inside the US, to help keep the price down. Please allow an extra 3 to 5 days for them to make the kits.

These kits were made with original Z design patterns, but are made with better materials than the originals!
Made with a short cut dense pile of loop for longevity & durability.

Carpet Kits for Z’s from 70-96

We supply carpet kits from 2 different manufacturers. Our main supplier makes all of our sectional kits for the 70-76 Z’s, and what we call our regular grade sewn molded kits for Z’s and ZX’s from 70-96. Our second supplier makes our premium grade heat molded kits, and our custom floor mats that lock into the carpet and will never move on you.

The 5 piece sectional kits are all flat pieces, have sewn bound edges, and all pieces are padded. They are patterned after the original factory style carpet for all Z’s from 70-75. The 76 originally used a 6 piece sectional kit, but you can purchase a 5 or 6 piece kit according to your preference. These kits can be made in all stock colors in cut pile, but loop is available in black or a reddish burgundy only. I’m putting all this info up for people to read because of all the different types of carpet and their applications can be very confusing, and this write up should answer most of your questions.

SEWN MOLDED KITS:

Our regular grade sewn molded carpet kits are molded to fit some of the approximate contours of the floor pan for that year. They are not a precise fit like the original factory kits were, and they do not necessarily follow the same configuration as the original carpets. No one makes a kit like that anymore. The front sections do require trimming around the doors and console area, and they will sometimes require you to do some contouring yourself to fit some of your cars floor pan, and seat area configurations, etc. THEY ARE NOT A PRECISE FIT ONCE AGAIN. All pieces will need to have bolt holes cut in them as well.

The rear deck carpet is the only one that comes pre-padded in these kits. If you want padding for all the other pieces, then you need to buy a bulk padding kit from us, and cut it to fit. It is available by the square yard only. These kits are available in all stock colors in cut pile, but loop is available in black or a reddish burgundy only.

Our regular grade sewn molded kits also come with a can of spray glue. Please be careful using this product. Always use it in a well-ventilated area, and try to use a properly fitting respirator. It helps to have a fan blowing into the car and pushing fumes away from you. Breathing these fumes is hazardous to your health. If you aren’t able to use these types of products properly, then don’t use them at all.

HEAT MOLDED KITS

Our premium grade heat molded carpet kits are much better than our regular grade sewn molded kits. All pieces come pre-padded in these kits, and the back side of all pieces have been covered with plastic from a plastic injection mold where it is heat molded. This helps the carpet maintain it’s original shape better, and it also helps in resisting mold and mildew. These kits fit your floor pan contours much better than our sewn molded kits, BUT they still require a fair amount of trimming to fit. All bolt holes will have to be cut into them, and you’ll sometimes you’ll still have to cut the carpet to adjust it to fit the contours of your existing floor and seat areas.

These kits are available in about 30 different colors. These kits do not come with spray glue. If you’re a picky consumer, and you want a molded kit, then you’re better off with our premium grade heat molded kit. The down side of the heat molded kit is that it’s about 100.00 more than the sewn molded kit for the coupes, and even more than that for the 2+2’s.

Keep in mind that this is automotive carpet, not house carpet. Automotive carpet is thinner and not as plush as house carpeting is, but you don’t walk on automotive carpet either, so it doesn’t need to be as thick.

You may have seen one of or both of our molded kits for sale by other vendors. While they may not tell you outright that their kits are a perfect plug ‘n’ play fit for your car, a lot of them definitely imply it in the way they word their advertising. We’ve installed most of these carpet kits in Z’s and ZX’s, many times through the years, and we know the pros and cons of all of these kits. We know they’re a good product, not a perfect product, and definently not a plug’n’play product, but they are still the best on the market, especially for the price. We try to be as straightforward as possible with our customers, about all of the products that we sell, even at the risk of losing a sale. We want you to be satisfied with every product you buy from us. That is why we aren’t afraid to critique our own products to you.

Remember that if you order a carpet kit from us, make sure that you fully understand all that I have said about these kits.

THEY ARE A SPECIAL ORDER PART AND ONCE YOU’VE ORDERED IT AND RECEIVED IT, YOU CANNOT RETURN IT FOR CREDIT OR A REFUND!

Remember that if you order a carpet kit from us, make sure that you fully understand all that we have said about these kits. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.
